Collect words from reading for Anki
Set up Anki Desktop, collect vocabulary with sentence context, and check that captures have actually arrived.
Set up the desktop connection
Open Floradeck’s Anki workspace while Anki Desktop is running with the AnkiConnect add-on installed. Follow the connection instructions and allow Floradeck’s origin when Anki asks. Direct sending uses the local desktop connection; AnkiWeb, direct mobile delivery and background synchronisation are not supported.
Choose a destination
Connect and choose the destination deck in the Anki workspace. Capture delivery uses the Basic note type with Front and Back fields. Custom capture templates and media upload are not supported. Opening the Anki workspace does not automatically change your language’s study provider.
Capture a useful word
While reading, select a word, check its meaning, and choose Add to Anki. Captures preserve useful context and a source reference where available. You can keep using built-in Review and use Anki as a separate destination, or choose Anki-only study for the language.
Check delivery before repeating
Queued means Floradeck has retained the capture; it does not mean Anki has received it. Use the Anki workspace to send and check the result. A capture is delivered only after a verified Anki receipt. If the outcome is uncertain, reconcile it before sending again to avoid duplicate notes.
Export when direct sending is unavailable
The queue also offers TSV export for manual import. Downloading a file is not proof that Anki imported it. Check the imported notes in Anki and resolve the capture’s status before attempting another delivery.
